About
The exposition of contradictions in the society is Sifa Girinci’s main preoccupation. Girinci, to promote change, proposes alternative narratives stimulated by critical social sciences. She works across various media alongside painting.
"Why Abel, the nomad, murdered by Cain, the settled? Our reception of the truth varies, so do our testimonies. Changing our standpoint and re-visiting the everyday conflicts, one realizes the testimonies with regard to the truth lose their validity or they simply prove to be trivial. "
Sifa Girinci (b. 1985, Mugla) currently lives and works in Berlin. She graduated from Mugla Fine Art School in 2003 and completed her BA at Anadolu University in Fine Arts in 2007.
